The town of pulaski is located in Pulaski county and the rolling hillsides and green pastures surrounded by the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. Pulaski has a variety of things to do such as biking Draper Mountain, exploring the New River State Park Trail, camping at Gatewood, watching the Pulaski Yankees minor league team, the performing arts at the Pulaski theater, and viewing exhibits at the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley.
Pualski is a great little town in the mountains to stop by while traveling through Virginia west of Interstate 81. There are many places to stay, hotels, bed and breakfasts, campgrounds, and cabin rentals. While you are exploring the area stop by and get a quick bit to eat at one of our local restaurants which range from pizza to fine dining to breweries and wineries. History of Pulaski VA
Pulaski was formed on March 30, 1839 from parts of other counties and was named after Count Casimir Pulaski. The count was an exiled Polish nobleman who fought under George Washington in the Revolutionary War. Count Casimar was a brigadier general and chief of the cavalry in the Continental Army. The area of Pulaski was settled by Scottish, Irish, and German immigrant farmers.
